El Jefe of the Paulick Report, Ray Paulick, was on the road to Louisville as part of his Breeders’ Cup or Bust walk to raise money for Breeders’ Cup Charities early this afternoon. Paulick and Brad Cummings are walking in support of the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, Thoroughbred Charities of America, and the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
The Paulick team left the winner’s circle at Keeneland shortly after the first race today, and I spotted the trio hoofing it down the side of state highway 60. At about 2:15 p.m., they were within sight of the Castle, a local landmark on the border of Fayette and Woodford counties.
For the first leg of this trip, Paul and Brad Cummings had a third party with them, Dan Rosenberg, who is chairman of Thoroughbred Charities of America. Rosenberg appeared to have the bit in his teeth and was setting a pretty stiff pace. Paulick, on the outside as I drove past, appeared to have some rotation in his right hind, but if he will get one of the farriers over from Fasig-Tipton, they can probably smooth that out for him.
Best of luck to all!

I understand Greg Avioli gets $250,000 a year as President of BC Charities. In consideration of that, wonder why Ray Paulick is doing a marathon walk for the BC Charities? Surely it would make more sense if Avioli did the walking for such a big takehome!

perhaps he should also offer a tithe of his earnings for the good of others … and himself.
