Thewayyouare is a typey son of leading international sire Kingmambo and comes from a female family that is truly outstanding. A half-brother to the top-class Peeping Fawn, Thewayyouare is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Maryinsky. She is a daughter of Kentucky Oaks winner Blush With Pride.
Blush With Pride also produced G1-placed stakes winners Smolensk (by Danzig) and Better Than Honour (Deputy Minister). Better Than Honour is a chapter in someone’s future book about great producers because she is the dam of two Belmont Stakes winners — Rags to Riches and Jazil — as well as BC Marathon winner Man of Iron and Peter Pan winner Casino Drive.
Thewayyouare won the G1 Criterium International in France at 2, when he won four of five starts, (including the G3 Prix Thomas Bryon) then was off the board in four subsequent races at 3 and 4.
Thewayyouare is a smooth bay cast in the Kingmambo mold, standing 16 hands. The horse has a good head and feet, as well as a good hind leg.
A February 9 foal, Thewayyouare was bred by Barnett Enterprises and came to hand early enough to score all his victories as a juvenile. If carefully mated, he might be one to strike early with his first crop.
