John Sparkman, bloodstock editor and columnist for The Thoroughbred Times, has developed a blog called The Pedigree Curmudgeon (click here to view).

Sparkman has been chief bloodstock and pedigree writer for the Times since 1994, and prior to that he had a 15-year run as general manager of William duPont’s Pillar Stud. While there, Sparkman was responsible for the mating that produced Kentucky Derby winner Go for Gin.

Sparkman also is the author of the new book, Foundation Mares, which was published earlier this year. To read some of Sparkman’s writings, check out his blog, which features pedigree stories for each of this year’s classic winners.
